Raw Events: Bringing Health To Life!
We have been sharing our passion for highlighting healthy lifestyles since founding the event hosting and promotions service Raw Events in 2010. Our founder also set-up and ran the world’s first 100% plant-based, social-enterprise café Realfoods from 2010-2014 at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University).
We take great satisfaction in bringing people together in an environment where life changing (and often lifesaving) knowledge can be shared. Seeing people make the connection with vital information on natural health drives Raw Events to continue sourcing inspirational speakers, and creating unique and memorable event experiences. We curate and facilitate medical, nutrition, fitness, food and film events that showcase the world's best and brightest health entrepreneurs, experts and educators. Many of these events are run in collaboration with our worldwide network of plant-based healthcare professionals, athletes, creatives and not-for-profit charities.
Our upcoming events include the 'Nutrition in Healthcare Symposium' tour of Sydney (January 14) and Melbourne (January 28, 2018) with headline presenter Dr Kim Williams M.D. (American College of Cardiology 2016 President, Chief of Medicine and Cardiology - Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, U.S.A.)
We have just wrapped up the southern hemisphere tour of 'What I Wish I was Taught in Medical School about Nutrition' with keynote presenter, Dr Michael Klaper M.D. We also coordinated the Australia/NZ premiere tour for the documentary 'What The Health' (from the creators of 'Cowspiracy'). Each screening in 2017 featured a medical panel (with our record-breaking attendance Australian Premiere in Melbourne attracting nearly 1000 attendees to the iconic Astor Theatre).
Raw Events will be co-hosting the inaugural Australasian Plant-Based Nutrition in Healthcare Conference in Melbourne in early 2019. Our current focus is therefore to highlight medical professionals who are at the forefront of research, practice and education on the role of plant-based diets in the management of chronic disease.
Raw Events has assisted with curating, presenting at, and getting the word out about healthy lifestyles through numerous successful and sold-out events such as; Rich Roll and Julie Piatt 'Living The Plantpower Way' Australian tour with Andrew 'Spud Fit' Taylor (Malvern Town Hall, Paddington Town Hall), the RAW documentary, Overfed and Undernourished and Cowspiracy movie premieres (The Astor Theatre), exclusive presentations by Dr Jane Goodall (Melbourne Town Hall), and Zoe Weil (Royal Melbourne Botanic Gardens for Sentient World Entertainment), the annual World Vegan Day Melbourne and Conscious Living Festival (Royal Melbourne Showgrounds), Mind Body Spirit Festival (Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre), the Melbourne Vegan Festival (Corner Hotel), and the We Love Life festivals (CERES Environment Park).
